Due to the success of our lines and the support of our manufacturers and retailers, we have grown from a single-person company to one that employs several individuals.

Our extensive showroom offerings allow our buyers to fully meet their customer needs in the contemporary market. With the tween girl wanting to look like her big sister, our showroom is extremely fashion-forward and dedicated to providing our accounts with today's hottest looks. Our manufacturers also benefit from our expertise, as we work closely with them to optimize the design and merchandising of their lines.

Ilene Oren started out in the fashion industry working in sales in the junior market. After taking some time off to raise her children, Ilene resumed her sales career focusing on the children's market. What started as a passionate vision in her basement, has turned into one of the hottest tween showrooms in the country. Buyers consider Ilene Oren's showroom a destination for outfitting their stores with the latest fashion trends. Ilene has been recognized by her peers in the industry as being a driving force in the tween market. In June 2005, Children's Business names Ilene 1 of 20 most influential contributors who made a difference and redefined the tween market. In 2007, It's a Kids World crowned Ilene, the "Queen of Tween."

Nicole started at Ilene Oren & Company as a young 20 year old college student with a heavy fashion background. Nicole had worked for many major fashion houses and department stores and Ilene Oren was the first showroom she landed. She began with no experience and has learned from one of the best in the business. Twelve years later, Nicole is now Ilene’s right hand and is one of the top sales women at the company! Her sense of fashion brings an interesting mix to the showroom. Nicole knows the underground street styles that are floating around lower Manhattan and dresses like it too! Nicole wears many hats here including: Sales, All International Sales, Computer Tech Support, Website Assistance, and all other office duties.
Nicole’s passion for fashion and rock n roll has helped her connect to all of her stores and their young tween girls.

Amy Ackerman always had a flare for fashion. She started playing dress up in the womb, and hasn't stopped since! She has been with the Ilene Oren and Company Sales over 9 years. She is currently managing the kids/tween division at IOC. She specializes in boutiques and department stores and has great industry knowledge. Her creativity, positive attitude and diligence has made her an industry favorite among buyers. As Amy says “It's been such a pleasure getting to know all my buyers and stores so well over the years. Many of them have turned into lifelong friends.”

Chandrika Shrobe joined Ilene Oren and Company in March 2008, bringing 10 years of combined management and buying experience in the retail industry. At Ilene Oren and Company, Chandrika utilizes her management/buying and display and exhibit knowledge to help specialty stores, blossom and thrive. Chandrika’s love for life and enthusiasm helps her build great relationships with speciality stores.

Emily has been exposed to the fashion industry all her life coming from a family that is very much involved in the industry. Ever since Emily stepped into her Grandfather's showroom she knew this is what she wanted to do with her life. She has bachelor's degree in Business Marketing. While in college Emily interned at many different showrooms to gain as much experience as she could. Emily also worked at one of the leading specialty stores in NYC which helped her gain a lot of knowledge about retail side of the fashion industry. Emily started at Ilene Oren and Company in April 2010 and specializes in Young Contemporary. When Emily accepted the job position at Ilene Oren and Company, she told Ilene "She made her dream come true". You can always catch Emily wearing the latest fashion trends.

Lauren is the newest member of our team, and we are very excited to have her! Since working in a renowned NYC store specializing in tween and young contemporary clothing, Lauren has discovered a new found desire to learn more about the fashion industry. She is currently pursuing a degree in fashion merchandising management at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Sheri recently joined Ilene Oren and Company and will be specializing in the Young Contemporary market! She started her fashion career working for a contemporary multi-line showroom after moving to NYC from Mississippi in 2006. Since then she's worked in both retail and production, giving her the full insider view of the fashion industry. After travelling around the world for the 1st half of the year, she's now found a new home here at Ilene Oren and Company and is excited to bring our customers the latest fashion and trends!

Narod Olcer is one of the newest members of our Tween Division. She discovered her passion for fashion at a young age; picking out her own outfits at the age of two, she always knew she would be working in the fashion industry. Narod has been working in retail since the day she turned 18 as she pursued her Bachelor's degree in Marketing at Seton Hall University. While pursuing her Marketing Degree, Narod began as an intern at a multi- line showroom in the heart of NYC's fashion district chasing her dream to become an account executive at one of the top showrooms in the industry. Since joining the Ilene Oren Team, Narod has found her calling.
